How we Operate
AACN uses Facebook, Meetup.com, and its website for outreach and publicity. AACN has approximately 3,000 members including 1,550 members on Meetup.com and approximately 1,900 on Facebook (with difffering member bases).
Meetup.com is a free social site where users with similar interests can find other community, social, business, networking, etc events going around them by the simple search of a zip code and key words. AACN uses Meetup.com actively as it allows a strong community to be built because members must create profiles and can easily access events by RSVP and also message other members. This also allows organizers to easily remove or reject any spam requests, etc. An advantage over Facebook is that you can choose what your Meetup profile will be, communicate with new members, and can choose to never give away your Facebook information up.
